The Stening Simpson Group of Companies was established in 1979 by the two founding directors, Peter Stening and Elaine Simpson. The group are Principal Members of the National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia, are Registered Insurance Brokers and are honoured to have won the excellence in Insurance Broking award presented by the National Insurance Broking Association of Australia.The Group are also Associate Members of the Australian Surety Association of which Members comprise a range of participants in the Surety industry including Underwriters, Agents, Legal Firms and Brokers.

The group have offices in Sydney and Bermuda.

We have established a committed team of specialists who enjoy a challenge and delivering the results for the benefit of all concerned. The majority of our work comes as recommended business from entities who recognise our expertise in providing specialist tools, skills and advice. The Group has high ethical and professional standards and is committed to providing solutions that are in the best interest of our clients.

Stening Simpson’s commitment is to market risk programmes aggressively and to obtain the most competitive terms available whilst at the same time ensuring we do not compromise the level of cover or the calibre of carriers recommended. Only “A” rated global carriers are invited to participate on placement slips and a member of the allocated executive team personally presents all presentations to the syndication of carriers.
The Group have been responsible for the placement of major risks both in Australia and overseas. Our range of clients varies greatly covering private and public sectors, international corporations together with financial institutions. The Group structures composite risk arrangements, using the commercial market with export credit agencies and multilaterals. Assignments include advising on risk management programmes for multinational corporations, reviewing major international projects and advising on the affect risks could have on a project’s viability.

Stening Simpson staff are frequent speakers at international conferences and contributors of articles and comments.

We have managed to keep the size and cost structure to a minimum which further enhances our competitive edge over the larger firms which lack the flexibility and mobility of our group in responding to the needs of clients. Stening Simpson’s remarkable journey began in 1979 on strict principles of practice with the management of both Retail and Corporate Insurance Programmes.

In the years that followed, our enduring commitment to service excellence resulted in the addition of the placement of major risks both in Australia and Overseas.

Throughout Stening Simpson’s history, excellence has remained at the core of our culture and intrinsic to all our projects. This enduring passion has received widespread industry recognition.

In 1984 Stening Simpson were awarded the Excellence in Insurance Broking award presented by the National Insurance Broking Association of Australia.

Testament of the continued growth of Stening Simpson is the diversity of the Group into a global Specialised Risk Broking House. The Group are now dedicated Specialised Risk Brokers and proudly one of the largest managers of Specialised Risk programmes in Australasia.

Complementing core staff and on site teams, Stening Simpson maintains a panel of external associates and a series of strategic alliances and a broad and active network of affiliates to deliver work throughout Australia and internationally.
