On 15 November 2023, government officials announced a 60-day extension to the anti-crime state of emergency in multiple Sullana and Lima districts. In the Sullana district, emergency security measures will continue to apply to the Bellavista, Marcavelica, Salitral, Querecotillo, Ignacio Escudero and Miguel Checa areas. Moreover in the Lima district, the extension will apply to San Juan de Lurigancho and San Martín de Porres. However, government officials announced that effective 18 November, restrictions on commercial activities between 0000 and 0400 local time (0500-0900 UTC) will be lifted. The state of emergency was originally scheduled to last until 18 November.
