On 10 September 2024, a grenade detonated at the intersection of Ciudad de Cali Avenue and 38 Street in Bogotá’s María Paz neighborhood, located approximately 10 km (6 mi) southeast of the city center. At least 10 people, including two police officers, were injured in the explosion. Hours later, another grenade detonated in the city’s Amparo neighborhood, killing one person. No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts so far, and no suspects have been arrested.
