On 14 February 2024, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes in southern Lebanon, hitting several villages — including Adchit, Shihabiyeh, Nabatiyeh, al-Sawana and Souaneh. At least nine people were killed in the airstrikes, including four individuals in the city of Nabatiyeh and three others in the town of Souaneh. The airstrikes followed an attack by Lebanon-based Hizballah militants earlier in the day that caused damage in the northern Israeli town of Safed. At least one Israeli soldier was killed and eight others were injured in Safed.
