On 9 June 2024, suspected militants opened fire on a passenger bus carrying Hindu pilgrims in the Reasi district, located in the Indian federal territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The bus driver then lost control and the vehicle fell into a deep ravine. At least nine passengers were killed and 33 others suffered injuries in the event. Following the attack, a large number of military and police personnel deployed to the area to pursue the gunmen. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
