On 16 September 2023, thousands of people gathered at Wenceslas Square in the capital Prague to protest the government’s alleged economic mismanagement and military support for Ukraine. An estimated 10,000 people participated in the rally organized by the Právo Respekt Odbornost (PRO) party group in demand of Prime Minister Petr Fiala’s resignation and in opposition to the government’s pro-Western values. At least one protester was arrested. There were no reports of protest-related violence.
