On 20 June 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Sofia issued a Demonstration Alert, which reads in part as follows: “On Saturday, June 22, 2024, two marches are planned across downtown Sofia. The March of the Traditional Bulgarian Family is scheduled to take place 09:30 – 13:30. This march is considered a counter-Pride event. The second march, the Sofia Pride March, will gather beginning at 14:00 (2:00 PM). The march is scheduled for 19:30 (7:30 PM).
“On Sunday June 23, a protest is schedule to occur in front of the Embassy between 12:00 – 17:00 (5:00 PM).”
