On 28 May 2021, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), advising U.S. air carriers — operators conducting passenger flights — and commercial operators to excise extreme caution when “flying into, out of, within, or over the Minsk flight information region (FIR) (UMMV)…” The alert is in response to the forced landing of a Ryanair flight in Minsk on 23 May.
