At approximately 1800 local time (2100 UTC) on 15 May 2020, an Embraer Seneca aircraft operating a medical flight crashed near the municipality of São Benedito in the northeastern Ceará state shortly after takeoff from Sobral Airport (SNOB/QBX). All four occupants abors the aircraft were killed. The aircraft — owned by TopLine air taxi with registration PT-RMN — was transporting a COVID-19 patient to a hospital in Teresina, the state capital of Piauí, when it crashed. An investigation into the crash is ongoing; local reports suggest that adverse weather conditions along the flight route may have contributed to the crash.
